Is rafting from Belek worth it?

For most people on the Belek strip, yes — €23 buys about eight hours out of the resort, roughly fourteen kilometres of the Köprü river with a professional guide in your boat, all the equipment, insurance and a buffet lunch on the bank, with the transfer both ways in the price. It is worth less to you if you dislike cold water, if a long mountain drive at each end sounds like a chore, or if what you actually want is a quiet afternoon.

What €23 is buying

Add it up as a day rather than as an activity: two transfers, several hours on a river, kit you would otherwise hire, a guide per boat and a full lunch. Priced separately, none of that is a €23 list.

The comparison people usually make is with a hotel desk, and there the difference is not the river but the margin. Same base, same guides, same lunch.

Who genuinely should not book it

Anyone who is pregnant, or who has back, neck or heart problems, or has had surgery recently. That is not a disclaimer; it is the group we would rather turn away than take.

People who hate being cold. The Köprü is cold in August and the wetsuit only does so much about that.

Anyone whose day cannot survive a long mountain drive at each end. This is a full day out of the hotel, not a morning.

Where it stops being good value

Not at €23 — at the top of the ladder, if you buy more than you want. The combos are honestly priced, but a group that adds a quad, a buggy and a zipline because the next rung is only a few euros away will finish the day tired rather than delighted.

Our advice, which costs us money to give: book the river on its own the first time. If you want more, the machines are still there next week and you will know whether you enjoy the place.

What would make it not worth it

Booking it on the day you fly home, or the day after a late night, or with a child who is not ready for cold moving water. None of those are the river's fault and all of them are avoidable.

And booking blind. If you have a doubt about ages, swimming or health, send it to us before you pay attention to the price — that is the question that decides whether this day is worth it to you, not the number.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is €23 a good price for rafting here?
It covers the transfer both ways, around fourteen kilometres of river, all equipment, a guide in your raft, insurance and lunch. Priced individually those do not add up to €23.
Is it worth doing with young children?
The rafting takes children from seven, and families are the normal case. Whether it suits your particular child is your call — tell us their ages and we will be honest about it.
Should I book a combo or just the rafting?
Just the rafting, the first time. The machines and the zipline are still available another day, and a shorter day you enjoyed beats a long one you endured.
Is it better than a boat trip?
It is a different day: cold water, effort and a mountain drive, rather than sun and a deck. If what you want is to relax, a boat trip is the better booking and we would rather say so.
