Rafting or jeep safari?

A jeep safari is a sightseeing day with an engine: you sit, you look, you stop for photographs and villages. Rafting is a participation day: you get cold, you paddle, and you cannot watch it from a seat. If somebody in your party wants scenery without effort, the jeep wins; if they want to have done something, the river does. One straight thing first — we do not run a jeep safari from Belek, so this page compares rather than sells.

What we run and what we do not

Our rafting departs from the Belek strip. We have no jeep safari from Belek in our catalogue, and inventing one would be the easiest way to lose your trust on the day you turned up expecting it.

Our sister site does run one, from Side rather than Belek: sidejeepsafari.net. That is a different transfer and a different coast, so treat it as a comparison rather than an alternative pickup.

The real difference: watching versus doing

  • A jeep day is comfortable between stops. A rafting day is not comfortable at all while it is happening, which is rather the point.
  • A jeep carries you past scenery. A raft puts you inside it, at water level, under the canyon walls.
  • Jeep days suit mixed groups where somebody cannot get wet or cold. Rafting does not bend that way.
  • Rafting has a professional steering your boat and a fixed route down a river. A jeep day is a road itinerary with stops.

Who should pick which

Take the jeep if the group includes somebody who should not be in cold moving water, or if what you want is villages, viewpoints and photographs at a comfortable pace.

Take the rafting if you want the day to be an experience rather than a tour. Fourteen kilometres of the Köprü river is not something you watch.

Can you do both?

Not on one day from Belek, and not through us as a package. They are different departures in different directions, and a combined day would be a promise about somebody else's operation.

If you have two free days, most people do the river first — it is the one that needs energy, and a jeep day is the easier way to spend a tired afternoon.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you run a jeep safari from Belek?
No. Our departure from the Belek strip is the rafting. Our sister site runs a jeep safari from Side, which is a different pickup area.
Which is better for older guests?
Usually the jeep: you are seated, dry and warm, and the pace is yours. Rafting is cold and physical from the first minute.
Which is better value?
We can only price our own: rafting from Belek is €23 per adult with the transfer, kit, guide and lunch included. Compare that against whatever the jeep day costs where you find it.
Can I book both together?
Not as one package from us — different directions, different operators, different days. Book the river through us and compare the jeep day separately.
