The honest difference
- Rafting is done to you as much as by you: the guide reads the water and steers, and your job is to paddle on command and hold on. Quad riding is the opposite — nobody drives it for you.
- Rafting is cold and wet from the first minute. A quad safari is dry until it is dusty.
- A raft is shared with other guests. A quad is yours for the ride.
- Rafting takes children from seven. The machine stages have their own rules at the base, which is why we ask for ages rather than print a number.
Which suits which kind of guest
If somebody in the party is nervous about doing the driving — a first-timer, a grandparent, a teenager — rafting is the kinder booking: there is a professional in the boat and nothing to operate.
If the appeal is control and independence, the quad is the one. Being steered down a river by somebody else is exactly what some people do not want from an adventure day.
You probably do not have to choose
The combo is €38 per person and puts the quad safari at the canyon on the same day as the river, with one transfer, one lunch and one set of paperwork. Against €23 for the rafting alone, that is a small price for a second activity.
If you want the machine and not the water at all, that is a different day and a different operator page — our sister site belekquadsafari.com runs a quad-only safari from Belek, and we would rather point you at it than sell you a river you did not want.
What we will not claim
That one is safer than the other. Both have their own equipment, their own briefing and their own rules at the base, and comparing risk between them is not something we have data for.
And no ages for the machine stages. The rafting rule is on record and the quad rule is the base's — send us the ages of your party and you will get the real answer instead of a plausible one.
