What our own record says, word for word
There are exactly two lines about guides in what we operate to, and they are not the same line. Reading them side by side is the whole of this page.
- The river day: a professional English-speaking rafting guide in each raft. One guide per boat, not one guide for the group, and the language is stated.
- The Tazı Canyon combo: a professional rafting guide and a Tazı Canyon driver-guide. Two people, and no language stated for either of them.
English is the promise; the rest is a question we answer by hand
Three of the four markets this site is written for do not speak the one language our record commits to, which is precisely why this page exists. German, Russian and Polish guests book this river constantly, and pretending they will be met in their own language would be the easiest sentence in the world to write and the hardest one to keep at the riverside.
So the honest position is this. English on the river, every raft, in writing. Anything else is possible on a given day depending on who is rostered, and nobody at this desk can promise you a person we have not booked. Send us the date and the language on WhatsApp and you will get a straight yes, no or "we will check" — which is worth more than a page that says yes to everyone.
Why the language matters more than it first sounds
This is not about small talk. The safety briefing happens at the riverside base before anyone is in a boat, and the whole arrangement on the water rests on one rule: the guide's instructions are followed at all times. Paddle, hold, get down, stop. Those are decisions taken in seconds and they are taken by the person in your raft.
That is the reason we would rather tell you plainly that we cannot guarantee your language than let you discover it in the middle of a rapid. If nobody in your party understands what is being said, you should know that before you pay a deposit — which, since we take no prepayment, means before you commit to a date rather than before you commit money.
The Tazı Canyon half is a separate question
The combo puts two different people in your day: a rafting guide on the river and a Tazı Canyon driver-guide for the drive up to the viewpoint. Our inclusion line names both roles and states no language for either, and we are not going to fill that gap with an assumption.
Practically, the Tazı half is a drive to a rock balcony above the gorge rather than a briefing you must act on, so the stakes are lower than on the water. That is context, not a promise. If you want to know what the driver-guide will speak on your date, that is another WhatsApp message and another honest answer.
What we will not do, and why the URL of this page is worded the way it is
We will not put "German-speaking guide" or "Russian-speaking guide" in a page title, a slug or a meta description in order to catch the search. That is the exact defect our fact file exists to stop: a promise made by a URL that the operating record never made.
The searches are real and we would like the traffic. We would like it less than we would dislike a family arriving at the base expecting something we never had. So the page asks the question in every language and answers it with what is written down.
What to do if English is not your language
Message us before you book. Tell us the date, the number of people and the language you need, and we will tell you what we can actually arrange. If we cannot, we will say so and you can decide with the real information in front of you.
Put it in the booking message too, not only in the chat. And if one person in your group is comfortable in English, say that as well: a group that tells the base in advance is a group the guides can seat together, and one person translating four short commands is a completely workable day.
What you can expect regardless of language
The kit is the same for everyone: helmet, life jacket, paddle and wetsuit, fitted at the base and included in the fare. So is the demonstration — a briefing is shown as well as spoken, because a paddle stroke is easier to copy than to describe.
And what to expect from the day does not change either: the same river, the same guide in the boat, the same lunch afterwards. The language question is about how much of the talking you will follow, not about whether the day works.
