Two facts that only make sense next to each other
The first is the policy, and it is the same on both tours we sell: cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour starts. No condition attaches to it, no reason has to be given and no fee is subtracted from anything, because nothing has been collected.
The second is the gap. No pickup time appears anywhere on this site, and that is not coyness — no clock time is recorded for these departures, and a page that printed one would be inventing it. Your time is confirmed with you after the reservation exists rather than promised before it.
Each fact is unremarkable on its own. Put together, they leave a reader holding a deadline whose shape is clear and whose hour is not. That is the whole subject of this page, and the fix is a habit rather than a number.
Count conservatively, and count in days rather than hours
Since you do not know when your day begins, assume the earliest version of it and give the deadline room. Treat the whole of the day before your tour date as your last honest chance to decide. If you are booked for a Thursday, Wednesday is the day the decision belongs to; if you find yourself weighing it up on Thursday morning, the window has already stopped being comfortable.
Read that as what it is. We are not telling you the day starts early — we have no time to give you and we are not going to imply one sideways. We are telling you not to guess, because a deadline you cannot see is a deadline people round in their own favour, and this is the one place on the tour where that habit costs something.
It helps to remember the scale of the thing you are cancelling. The river day is 8 hours door to door: a whole day out of a holiday, not an afternoon you could still reconsider over a late breakfast.
If you miss the window, the news is better than you expect
Nothing has been taken. No card is held, no deposit is charged, the reservation itself is free and the fare is handed over in euros on the tour day. So there is no money of yours sitting with us to be argued about, no refund form to fill in and nobody to chase for a transfer that never happened.
What we ask instead is a message. A vehicle is routed to your hotel and a place is held in a boat on a tour capped at 40 people, and telling us costs you nothing while saying nothing costs the day a seat. We are not going to invent a late-cancellation penalty to make that sound more serious than it is, and we are not going to pretend it does not matter either.
What this window is not
Four things get read into a cancellation policy that are not in this one.
- It is not a payment deadline. Nothing at all is due before the day, so there is no moment at which the booking becomes financially binding.
- It is not the weather rule. What happens when the weather turns is its own subject and belongs to the weather guide; the tour itself runs all year, every day of the week.
- It is not a date change. Moving a booking to another day is not a policy we have on record, so we will not promise it on a page. Ask us for your date instead and you will get an answer about that date.
- It is not all-or-nothing. If one of four people drops out, tell us the new number rather than cancelling the whole booking and starting again.
How to cancel cleanly, in one message
There is no portal, no account and no form. There is a conversation, and it works best if it contains everything at once.
- Message us on WhatsApp with the name the booking is under, the tour date and the hotel.
- Send it the day before rather than on the morning of the tour.
- If only part of the party is dropping out, say how many people are still coming.
- If you booked one of the combo options, the same window applies — it is the same reservation, not a second one.
- Do not cancel by simply not appearing. It costs you nothing, but it costs a seat that somebody else wanted and a driver a stop that was never needed.
